Alder Creek Parkway Opens In Folsom

July 7th, 2017 by

There’s a new stretch of road for your Nissan to explore in Folsom.

Alder Creek Parkway–a thoroughfare connecting Scott and Placerville roads south of Highway 50–is open and ready for traffic, according to city officials.

The parkway is part of an 18-month infrastructure and road improvement project south of Highway 50 in the Folsom Plan Area.

The Folsom Plan Area is a 3,520-acre section that the City of Folsom annexed in 2011. The plan adheres to Measure W, which Folsom voters approved and ensures landowners provide transportation improvements to offset construction impacts. It also requires almost a third of the land be held for open space while allowing for the construction of new schools.

The Folsom Plan Area meets those requirements and the Folsom City Council adopted the program in 2012.
